Homecoming Parade 2010

DESI Student organization also participated in Home Coming Parade,
2010. All the members where wearing their “Namaste YA’ll” T-shirt.
Namaste is a Hindi word to greet people. All the members of
organization distributed candies to the kids who came to watch the
Home Coming Parade.

About Desi Student Organization

DESI is an on-campus organization which represents students from South Asia (India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka). The goal of the organization is to spread cultural awareness on the WT campus. Throughout the year DESI students celebrates different festivals on campus to give an exposure of south Asian culture and tradition. Students also do social gatherings once every month. DESI students also take part in on-campus events and activities to help bridge all cultural gaps. Last year WT student participated in Chili-cook off, Homecoming Parade, International student’s expo, and HOLI (festival of colors). The organization has also planned various new events for coming year. Any WT student can become a member of DESI student organization. DESI student organization has formal meetings twice every month. Students also pay $20 each semester for membership fees.
